This electric motor can be used in both directions, i.e. as a starter or as a generator of electric current. This solution extends the hybrid possibilities of the vehicle, i.e. the usability of electrical energy for propulsion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">The reason for using mild-hybrid technology is to reduce fuel consumption and thus <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autolexicon.net\/articles\/emise-vyfukovych-plynu\/\">exhaust emissions<\/a>, especially the monitored <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autolexicon.net\/articles\/oxid-uhlicity-co2\/\">CO<sub>2<\/sub><\/a> value.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.autolexicon.net\/obr_clanky\/cs_e-tec___002.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-10520 size-large\" title=\"marking \u0160koda e-TEC\" src=\"https:\/\/www.autolexicon.net\/obr_clanky\/cs_e-tec___002-600x248.jpg\" alt=\"marking \u0160koda e-TEC\" width=\"600\" height=\"248\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.autolexicon.net\/obr_clanky\/cs_e-tec___002-600x248.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.autolexicon.net\/obr_clanky\/cs_e-tec___002-250x103.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.autolexicon.net\/obr_clanky\/cs_e-tec___002-242x100.jpg 242w, https:\/\/www.autolexicon.net\/obr_clanky\/cs_e-tec___002-768x317.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.autolexicon.net\/obr_clanky\/cs_e-tec___002.jpg 1236w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">\u0160koda e-TEC technique<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">Compared to the conventional version with an internal combustion engine, \u0160koda e-TEC cars are equipped with an <strong>electric motor<\/strong> (starter-generator) and a <strong>48V Li-Ion battery<\/strong>, usually located under the passenger seat, see picture. Their cooperation offers the car greater possibilities of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autolexicon.net\/articles\/regenerativni-brzdeni\/\">recovering the motion energy<\/a> and reusing it to power the vehicle. When the combustion engine brakes, the electric motor can generate electricity which is stored in the 48V battery. The stored energy is then used to support the internal combustion engine, for example, during starting, starting up or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autolexicon.net\/articles\/akcelerace\/\">acceleration<\/a>. The basic level of electrification are vehicles bearing the <strong>e-TEC<\/strong> trade mark, these are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autolexicon.net\/articles\/mhev-mild-hybrid-electric-vehicle\/\">MHEVs<\/a> that cannot run purely on electricity. The second type of electrification are vehicles marked with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autolexicon.net\/articles\/skoda-iv\/\">symbol <strong>iV<\/strong><\/a>, which can already run purely on electricity.
