SensoDrive<\/strong> is a type of mechanical gearbox with electro-hydraulic control<\/strong>, also known as a robotized gearbox or semi-automatic transmission. It allows the driver to switch between fully automatic mode and sequential manual shifting<\/strong>. The mode selection is made either by a button on the dashboard or directly via the gearshift controls.<\/span><\/p>\n

Two manual control options are available: a classic gear lever located on the floor or paddles behind the steering wheel. Vehicles equipped with the SensoDrive transmission do not have a clutch pedal<\/strong> \u2013 the clutch and the gear changes themselves are controlled electronically using servomotors. The gear lever is not mechanically linked to the transmission; the entire process is managed by the control unit.<\/span><\/p>\n

This unit evaluates several parameters with each gear change \u2013 such as vehicle speed, gear lever position, engine temperature, or information from ABS<\/a> and ESP<\/a>. Based on this data, it then automatically controls the clutch and the selection of the gear.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"SensoDrive\" <\/a><\/p>\n

  • lower fuel consumption than a classic automatic transmission<\/span><\/li>\n
  • lower production and maintenance costs (mechanically simpler than a full automatic)<\/span><\/li>\n
  • comfortable driving without a clutch, suitable for city traffic<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Disadvantages:<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

    • shifting can be slower and less smooth, especially in older versions<\/span><\/li>\n
    • the transmission’s response may be delayed during dynamic driving<\/span><\/li>\n
    • requires getting used to the specific behavior when starting and shifting gears<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
