The size of the approach angle is, in addition to the ground clearance and the crossing angle, a determining parameter for the vehicle&#8217;s passability over the terrain. Approach angle refers to the maximum angle at which a vehicle can run over an obstacle (such as a kerb, slope or rough terrain) without touching the chassis or bumper.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Definition:<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">The approach angle is the largest possible angle between the base and a plane tangent to the tires, while no fixed point of the body lies between this plane and the base. Unless otherwise stated, the value of the approach angle is determined at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.autolexicon.net\/articles\/celkova-hmotnost\/\">total vehicle weight<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp; This is the angle at which the vehicle crosses the ramp at slow speed without the chassis reaching the edge of the ramp.
