{"id":8609,"date":"2019-09-20T00:47:09","date_gmt":"2019-09-20T00:47:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.autolexicon.net\/?p=8609"},"modified":"2024-07-03T13:03:00","modified_gmt":"2024-07-03T13:03:00","slug":"vyska-vozu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.autolexicon.net\/en\/articles\/vyska-vozu\/","title":{"rendered":"Car height"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">Vehicle height is one of the standardised vehicle data, the so-called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.autolexicon.net\/articles\/zakladni-rozmery-vozidel\/\">basic vehicle dimensions<\/a>, which are defined by the <strong>international standard <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iso.org\/obp\/ui#iso:std:iso:612:ed-1:v1:en\">ISO 612<\/a><\/strong> of 1978.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">Definition:<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">The height of a car is the vertical distance between the ground and the highest point on the vehicle. The height of the car is measured on an unladen vehicle with a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.autolexicon.net\/articles\/pohotovostni-hmotnost\/\">kerb weight<\/a>. The height of the car includes, for example, beacons or longitudinal roof racks. A <strong>larger frontal area<\/strong>, in turn, worsens the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.autolexicon.net\/articles\/aerodynamika\/\">aerodynamics<\/a> of the vehicle and consequently increases fuel consumption, thereby increasing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.autolexicon.net\/articles\/emise-vyfukovych-plynu\/\">exhaust emissions<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">On the other hand, the higher structure of the vehicle allows for a higher seating position, which <strong>makes it easier to get in and out of the vehicle<\/strong>. The higher seated crew also has a greater sense of security.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">A higher seated driver can easily take on the impression of greater visibility of the road situation. <strong>But new studies warn<\/strong> that the opposite is often true. In some lavish vehicles, especially <a href=\"http:\/\/www.autolexicon.net\/articles\/suv-sport-utility-vehicle\/\">SUVs<\/a>, the driver has a much poorer view of the situation in the immediate vicinity of the car than he or she thinks.
